Job summary

Torc is hiring for a machine learning engineer to design, develop, and deploy perception models for autonomous truck systems. You will own model development from data preparation through evaluation and integration, writing production-grade Python and PyTorch code and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualified candidates have 3+ years of relevant industry experience, a strong background in computer vision/3D perception, and experience with large-scale datasets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS/Robotics/EE/ML with relevant industry experience.
• Experience developing ML models for computer vision, perception, robotics, autonomous systems, or related domain.
• Strong Python and PyTorch coding with production-quality ML code.
• Experience training, evaluating, and improving deep learning models on large-scale datasets.
• Experience with image-based and/or 3D perception systems.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to integrate models into software systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve ML models for Torc's perception systems.
• Own model development and delivery from data prep through evaluation and integration.
• Write production-quality Python and PyTorch code to support training, evaluation, and inference workflows.
• Analyze model performance, identify failure modes, and troubleshoot issues.
• Develop perception models leveraging multi-modal sensor data, including camera and 3D data.
• Collaborate with software, infrastructure, and autonomy teams to deploy models.
