Job summary

Munich Re Group is seeking an Engineering Intern for the NA Integrated Analytics team in New York, starting Summer 2027. You will contribute to Python-based applications, ETL pipelines, and ML research under seasoned mentors in a hybrid in-office/remote setting.

Ideal candidates are pursuing undergraduate/graduate degrees in CS or engineering, with Python experience and an interest in cloud technologies like Azure, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Helm.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Bioinformatics - or equivalent program.
• Familiarity with Python or other object-oriented languages.
• Experience developing software using principles from the software design life cycle.
• Proficiency with agentic coding.

Responsibilities

• Create, test and support the development of Python based applications and predictive models deployed as RESTful microservices APIs.
• Build and expand ETL pipelines to ease data flow into cloud infrastructure.
• Deploy, monitor and improve visibility for production applications.
• Integrate security into all stages of the engineering pipeline with a security-first attitude.
• Build data products with heavy reliance on cloud infrastructure.
• Incorporate Git, testing, CI/CD workflows and PRs into coding projects.
• Participate in ML research projects with scientists and engineers.
