Job summary

Munich Re is seeking a Data Science Intern for the NA Integrated Analytics team in New York this coming Summer 2027. You’ll be supported by experienced professionals and mentored to develop a solid foundation for a future leadership role in data science.

This internship offers exposure to underwriting, pricing and claims analytics, with a hybrid in-office schedule and opportunities to work on scalable ML and GenAI solutions in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in CS, statistics, data science, applied math or engineering.
• Familiar with analytics through the modeling lifecycle and data sources.
• Experience in Python, SQL or R; Python is required.

Responsibilities

• Support development of statistical, ML and GenAI techniques for underwriting and pricing.
• Help build solutions to improve core processes and generate revenue or reduce costs.
• Research new data modeling approaches to unlock actionable insights.
• Collaborate with Munich Re functions to inform business decisions.
• Network with existing data science groups at Munich Re.
