Responsibilities

The Market Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the staff and activities for rehabilitation therapy services in inpatient, post-acute, and outpatient settings across all market facilities. The Market Director provides insightful leadership and management for managers, supervisors, and staff, functioning in a fast-paced environment and upholding excellence in healthcare service delivery.

The Market Director ensures adherence to professional and ethical standards following practice act guidelines and guarantees services are delivered in compliance with CommonSpirit Health's mission, ethical standards, and policies and procedures.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

Leads the development of therapy and related services, aligning objectives with the health system’s mission and vision and supporting strategic business goals through collaboration. Identifies short- and long-term goals, desired outcomes, and develops plans for implementation, monitoring, reporting, and evaluation. Focuses on growth and market development by innovating, building revenue-generating services, and strengthening referral streams.

Assesses and improves the quality of patient care and services, ensuring high standards through continuous performance improvement activities. Uses data-driven decision-making, benchmarks, goals, and action plans to ensure performance excellence.

Ensures compliance with The Joint Commission, CMS Conditions of Participation, federal and state regulations, and professional standards. Maintains quality control and compliance programs, models a culture of safety and high reliability.

Develops and monitors departmental budgets and expenditures, including staffing, space, and resources, to maximize efficiency and financial stewardship.

Recruits, trains, coaches, mentors, and retains department managers and supervisors, encouraging professional growth and ensuring patient needs are met through effective coordination across the health system.

Fosters respectful and effective communication with physicians, nurses, therapists, staff, patients, and families. Maintains positive physician relations, resolves complaints promptly, and collaborates with the health system leadership to achieve organizational goals.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in a therapeutic specialty area

Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience as a practicing therapist in a hospital or medical setting, with at least three (3) years in progressively responsible supervisory roles.

Required Licensure and Certifications:

Licensed therapist in the specialty area

BLS/CPR Certified
