Responsibilities

• Make, serve, and demonstrate complex knowledge of drinks, proportioning ingredients according to standardized recipes and maintaining bar inventory and cleanliness.
• Handle cash, collect payment, and submit daily reports per internal controls.
• Train Apprentice Bartender and Bar Porter on bar operations, guest service and bartending.
• Demonstrate knowledge of menu, allergies, and guest restrictions; resolve issues and escalate as needed.
• Utilize tools and equipment to prepare fresh juice, infusions, and cocktails; present items and maintain quality.
• Communicate effectively with management, bartenders, and staff to support guest and employee needs.
• Use sales techniques to upsell beverages while upholding polished, refined cocktails.

THE JOB:

As a Mixologist at The Corner Store inside The Cosmopolitan , you will be responsible for maintaining extensive knowledge of menu offerings, liquor brands, beers, wines, and non-alcoholic selections while ensuring the bar is always presented to the highest standards. You will set the stage for each guest’s experience through your welcoming personality, expert service, and attention to detail. By understanding each guest’s unique preferences and needs, you will take ownership of their experience, creating unforgettable WOW moments that extend far beyond their visit.

THE STARTING RATE:

$18.2417 Hourly

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Make, serve, and demonstrate complex knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available, proportioning ingredients according to standardized; maintain bar inventory according to set pars and internal controls and the cleanliness of the bar and equipment
• Account for poured or served beverages, collect payment, and follow all cash handling and variance procedures, including preparing daily reports and submitting appropriate paperwork
• Provide Apprentice Bartender and Bar Porter with training and mentoring on overall function of the bar, guest service and bartending
• Demonstrate proficiency in food service, knowledge of menu, allergies, and other potential guest restrictions. This includes but is not limited to, proper marking, clearly, and tableside service. Resolve guest complaints within scope of authority; otherwise refer the matter to management, notify supervisor and/or Security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft
• Utilize special tools and culinary equipment to prepare items like fresh juice a la minute, infusions, molecular style cocktails, cutting ice, and production of presentations items.
• Maintain effective communication with management, bartenders, and lateral departments in order to fully accompany any guest or employee needs
• Utilize sales techniques in order to upsell food and beverage products available in the outlet while having a pristine dedication to refinery resulting in polished yet artistic cocktails, serving to elevate the guests’ experience

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Is 21+ years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Fine-Dining Service experience required
• 5+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience in a bar or similar environment required
• Wine and beer knowledge preferred
