Job summary

DecoPac, Inc. is hiring a Mixer for 1st shift (Mon-Fri, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM) to set up, operate, and tend mixing equipment used for color pigments and ink preparation. You will measure ingredients, prepare ink for production floor labels, and complete batch worksheets and quality checks.

The role requires good color vision, strong organizational skills, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Teamwork is essential; you must be able to stand long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Job description

Now hiring 1st shift: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Mixer

Set up, operate, or tend machines to mix or blend materials, such as, liquids, color pigments, or ingredients.

• Measures dry & liquid ingredients
• Prepares ink for production floor labels with ink name and PMS color (if necessary), date ink mixed
• Completes ink worksheets
• Completes quality checks prior to moving colors from kettles
• Prepares base for production floor labels with base name.
• Completes batch worksheets
• Completes quality checks prior to transferring to a container.

• Responsible for maintaining adequate supplies of colors for production needs
• References production schedules & pulls mixing batch cards
• Calculates the amount of each colors & needed ingredients
• Locates & obtains each color on the production floor

• Cleans all equipment as needed and as soon as practically possible
• Cleans mixing room including floors, doors, and pipes as needed and as soon as practically possible
• Keeps drums and powder bins full
• Records lot number and dates ingredients used on the lot tracking log

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate good visual acuity to distinguish between details and colors
• Demonstrate good organization skills to collect and assemble ingredients, coordinate timetables and schedule work assignments with co-workers. Will also need to organize and maintain product files
• Must be able to accurately follow verbal and written instructions
• Written communications to make entries on production lists, mixing sheets and ink worksheets
• Accurate computation skills to measure ingredients using scales. Will be required to calculate ingredient amounts and estimate quantities as needed
• Good problem-solving skills to determine appropriate action for resolution
• Able to work with a team

Physical Activities

Ability to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stoop, pull, push twist, bend, and reach. Must also be able to maintain balance when lifting and demonstrate manual dexterity when adjusting machines.
