Job summary

KLA in Milpitas, CA is seeking a Mixed-Signal Hardware Design Engineer to design instrumented wafer products for advanced sensing and measurement. You will own design from concept through production, collaborate across firmware, systems, mechanical, and manufacturing teams, and drive validation and calibration strategies.

The role requires a degree in electrical engineering and 3+ years of hands-on hardware design, with experience in mixed-signal circuits and PCB development.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 3+ years designing and developing electronic hardware products.
• Experience with mixed-signal circuit design (analog & digital).
• Experience developing schematics and PCB design integration.
• Hands-on lab experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and root-cause analysis.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mixed-signal electrical subsystems for instrumented wafer products.
• Define electrical architectures and evaluate design tradeoffs.
• Develop low-power analog and digital circuitry for sensing and embedded apps.
• Select and integrate sensors, ADCs, microcontrollers, memory, batteries, interfaces.
• Create schematics and drive PCB/substrate development through reviews.
• Develop system-level performance requirements and measurement specs.
• Define calibration strategies and support traceability and accuracy.
• Develop validation plans and testing activities.
• Lead investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with firmware, systems, mechanical, manufacturing, and product teams.
