Hershey Creamery Co in Harrisburg, PA seeks a Mix Department Operator for 3rd shift (7pm-5am Sun-Thurs). You will operate the mix-making line, manage ingredient inventories, and coordinate with teams to ensure safe, high-quality ice cream mix is produced.

Role requires lifting up to 60 pounds, willingness to train on HACCP/HARPC procedures, and ability to work nights. Proficiency with Word and Excel is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in dairy/food processing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate the mix-making process to produce safe, high-quality ice cream mix.
• Maintain accurate inventory of all ingredients and materials.
• Review recipes with the batch operator and calculate slurry numbers for night runs.
• Wash tanks and equipment after batching; keep work area clean.
• Follow HACCP/HARPC plans and safety guidelines at all times.
• Work in a cross-functional team and assist with nightly tasks as needed.
• Proficiently use MS Word and Excel to document production data.

Mix Department OperatorHarrisburg, PAProduction Department - Entry Level Position**3rd Shift (7pm-5am Sun-Thurs)Job Summary:The primary responsibilities of this position are to carry out the safe and correct operation of the mix-making process, maintain an accurate inventory of all ingredients and materials needed, and to communicate with the various department team members to ensure safe and high-quality ice cream mix is delivered to the correct manufacturing areas.Our benefits include:Consistent Overtime Pay – Average 45-50 hours per week, with overtime after 40 hours.Starting wage of $23.82 / hour ; increased to $24.42 after 60 days of positive performance - $36.63/hour per OT Hour100% Company-Paid healthcare and life insurance for the employee401K with company matchJob ResponsibilitiesUnderstand the basic flow of ice cream production from receiving, mix formulation, production, storage, and distribution. This position will require training and proficiency in all aspects of mix formulation and bulk ingredient receiving.Understand, apply, and maintain the application of the HACCP/HARPC plan.Review and retrieve dry goods from the warehouse and place in orderly fashion for the night runs.Review recipes with the batch operator and figure out slurry numbers for the nights mixes.Work on weekly task sheets each night when not dumping.Responsible for washing the tanks and machines when batching is complete.Operate with safety, quality, and teamwork in mind throughout the shift. Follow all safety guidelines and rules; environmental and regulatory guidelines; use all required safety equipment. Maintain quality and cleanliness of the work area and equipment.Any additional responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.Must be able to lift 60 pounds continuously throughout shift.Must be able to perform routine maintenance tasks in a confined area such as tanks or tankers.Ability to work in a team environment and be cross-functional. Hours may vary depending on role (6 pm – 5 am or work is complete)Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
