ServPro NE is seeking a Mitigation Technician in Big Rapids, Michigan to respond to water, fire, mold, and storm emergencies. This hands-on role sets up equipment, performs mitigation, and supports documentation to ensure quality work and excellent customer service.

You will work on a rotating on-call schedule, lift heavy materials, follow safety procedures, and cooperate with a Crew Chief and Project Manager to deliver timely restoration services. Prior IICRC WRT certification is preferred.

Qualifikationen

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for long periods.
• Strong teamwork and customer service skills.
• Willingness to on-call for emergencies.

Aufgaben

• Set up, monitor, and remove restoration equipment (air movers, dehumidifiers, HEPA vacuums, etc.).
• Perform demolition as needed (drywall, flooring, insulation, trim).
• Clean and sanitize affected areas according to standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized jobsite, vehicle, and equipment.
• Document job progress, moisture readings, and customer communications using Servpro systems.
• Communicate professionally with customers, teammates, and project managers.
• Follow safety procedures and use protective equipment as required.
• Be available for rotating on-call schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
• Support Crew Chief and Project Manager with job execution and site leadership.

About the Role

The Mitigation Technician is a key member of our restoration team, responsible for responding to water, fire, mold, and storm damage emergencies. This role performs hands‑on mitigation and cleanup work, sets equipment, and supports job documentation to ensure high-quality results and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in water, fire, mold, and storm mitigation and cleanup services
• Set up, monitor, and remove restoration equipment (air movers, dehumidifiers, HEPA vacuums, etc.)
• Perform demolition as needed (drywall, flooring, insulation, trim)
• Clean and sanitize affected areas according to IICRC and Servpro standards
• Maintain a clean and organized jobsite, vehicle, and equipment
• Document job progress, moisture readings, and customer communications using Servpro systems
• Communicate professionally with customers, teammates, and project managers
• Follow safety procedures and use protective equipment as required
• Be available for rotating on‑call schedule, including some evenings and weekends

Qualifications

Required:

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work on feet for extended periods, and tolerate various work environments
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and reliability
• Ability to follow direction and work in a team environment
• Excellent communication and customer service skills

Preferred but not required:

• Previous experience in construction, restoration, general labor, or trades
• IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT) certification
• Experience operating restoration equipment
• Basic understanding of moisture mapping and job documentation

Schedule & Availability

• Competitive hourly pay based on experience: $18-$22/hour
