Job summary

North Dakota Department of Emergency Services in Bismarck seeks a Mitigation Program Specialist to support emergency and disaster response statewide. You will assist with development and revision of response, recovery, mitigation, and prevention planning products, help revise the State's multi-hazard mitigation plan, and support SEOC activations.

Qualifications

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Requires a bachelor's degree and one year of professional work experience in emergency management, education, public or business administration, operational planning, or research. Additional work experience may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

Provide emergency and disaster response support throughout North Dakota.
Assist with development and revision of response, recovery, mitigation, and prevention planning products.
Assist with developing the annual report used in the State's Enhanced Mitigation Mission Area Operations Plan (MAOP).
Serve as planning or intel specialist during activations of the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC).
