  • Assist with creation and distribution of electronic and print information.
  • Prepare state and local election lists of elected officials and candidates.
  • Track and prepare general election report for distribution.
  • Assist with organizational needs such as delegation lists.

Frankfort, Kentucky

Dates: January 25, 2027, through March 31, 2027 (flexible on actual start and end dates)

Required Hours: 16-20 hours per week (part-time)

Location: In-person at the Kentucky office

Pay: $18.40 per hour

Requirements: Third-year level student or higher in a bachelor's degree program; or graduate studies

POSITION OVERVIEW

Cornerstone Government Affairs is looking for Intern Candidates to assist our Kentucky State Government Affairs team at the Kentucky Capitol during the 2027 Legislative Session. Interns will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in state lobbying efforts and gain knowledge of key stakeholders and issues of importance in the state of Kentucky.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Attend committee hearings/study committees and take detailed notes on legislation that are relevant to the team;
  • Assist with creation and distribution of electronic and print information;
  • Prepare state and local election lists of elected officials and candidates;
  • Track and prepare general election report for distribution;
  • Assist with organizational needs such as delegation lists, etc.
INTERNSHIP PROGRAM OFFERINGS:

Cornerstone will reimburse parking and expenses incurred directly related to Cornerstone's business performance. Academic credit can be arranged upon agreement and documentation by the sponsoring institution.

The ideal candidate should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong organizational skills and high attention to detail. Candidates should have the ability to discern, identify and provide the appropriate level of information to stakeholders and hold a deep interest in politics and the legislative process. Exceptional candidates will have a proven track record of strong relationship-building skills and be positive and proactive while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
