Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Manager, Mission Systems Software to lead a multi-site team of engineers responsible for onboard mission systems software for unmanned and autonomous platforms, including vision, autonomy, robotics, and flight software.

You will drive hiring, career development, roadmaps, and cross-functional collaboration with the Software Chief Engineer and Systems Engineering teams, overseeing about 13–14 engineers across San Diego, Simi Valley, and remote locations.

Qualifications

• Over 12+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience leading software teams as a manager or technical leader (4+ years).
• Experience delivering mission-critical software through full lifecycle.
• Experience in autonomous, unmanned, or aerospace domains.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a multi-site software engineering team across locations.
• Define software roadmaps and priorities with the Software Chief Engineer.
• Oversee staffing plans, budgets, schedules, and performance reviews.
• Coordinate with Systems Engineering, GNC, Hardware, and Flight Test teams.
• Drive software quality through reviews, testing, and release processes.
