Job summary

Scientific Systems seeks a Lead Autonomy Software Engineer to drive development of mission autonomy for Group 3-5 UAS. You will lead a small engineering team, integrate cutting-edge autonomy tech, and coordinate with customers on requirements and milestones.

The role requires strong C/C++, Python skills, robotics background, and ability to obtain US DoD clearance. Hybrid schedule with some travel and hands-on leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 7+ years developing autonomy technologies with team leadership.
• Experience leading proposals and winning contracts.
• Experience building and integrating software for edge platforms.
• Background in robotics related to motion planning, behavior modeling, or decision-making.
• Experience with simulation tools and environments (AFSIM, NGTS).

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to develop innovative autonomy solutions based on customer requirements.
• Serve as subject matter expert in mission autonomy technologies.
• Support or lead marketing and proposal efforts for autonomy programs.
• Manage and task team to achieve program milestones and deliverables.
• Lead prime and customer-facing interactions.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in mission autonomy.
