Job summary

Antares, based in Torrance, CA, seeks a Mission Engineer II to manage cross-domain programs spanning commercial, defense, and space markets. You will own cost, schedule, and quality, coordinate across engineering disciplines, and translate user needs into actionable requirements for complex microreactor systems.

You will interface with DoD/DOE sponsors and contribute to proposals, system architecture, and deployment readiness, ensuring mission objectives are met across terrestrial and space

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (mechanical, aerospace, nuclear, systems, etc.), physics, or applied science.
  • 3+ years of experience in complex, safety-critical or defense/aerospace programs with accountability for cost/schedule/technical performance and formal review gates.
  • Strong foundations in thermodynamics/thermofluids, energy systems, and engineering economics with cross-disciplinary rigor.
  • Systems engineering proficiency and agile best practices in deep technology with cross-disciplinary thinking.

Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery for customer-facing programs—owning cost/schedule/quality and milestone execution.
  • Establish closed-loop requirements management linking customer feedback to design inputs.
  • Support DoD/DOE proposals by drafting technical content and interface requirements.
  • Develop internal technical roadmaps and ensure product readiness for deployments.
