Job summary

Antares is seeking a Mission Engineer II to lead programs across commercial, defense, and space microreactor missions. You will act as a primary technical contact for customers, driving development, deployment, and application of Antares systems from concept through end of life.

The ideal candidate has strong engineering and physics fundamentals, experience with complex, mission-critical systems, and the ability to work across engineering disciplines, with DoD/DOE/NASA exposure preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or applied science.
  • Exceptional technical writing and communication skills.
  • 3+ years in technically complex systems, aerospace, nuclear, or defense.
  • Willingness to travel to customer and mission sites.

Responsibilities

  • Lead customer-facing and funded R&D programs with cost, schedule, and technical deliverables.
  • Translate customer needs into technical requirements and close cross-disciplinary gaps.
  • Drive product development for transport, deployment, and integration of Antares systems.
  • Own mission-level product integration across lifecycles.
  • Perform first-principles analyses and develop models to evaluate trade spaces.
  • Develop new applications and missions; support bids and contract captures.
  • Contribute to system architecture and trade studies.
