Job summary

The Ohio Adjutant General’s Department is hiring a Facility Maintenance Specialist 1 to help maintain safe, functional facilities in support of our mission. You will perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventive tasks across buildings and grounds.

We value ownership, safety, and clear communication as you work to keep military and state operations ready. This is a full-time, on-site position with regular hours and some flexibility.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary training in facilities maintenance technology, industrial trades technology, or a comparable program.
• At least one year of experience in construction or building maintenance including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and semi-skilled facility maintenance to support operation of buildings, grounds and equipment.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and routine repair on building systems and components.
• Assist with plumbing, electrical, carpentry and mechanical tasks as needed.
• Support HVAC and mechanical room upkeep through preventive maintenance.
• Perform general building repair and installation support.
• Operate maintenance equipment and complete work orders with proper records.
