York Space Systems is seeking a Mission Lead Systems Engineer to guide space vehicle missions and lead a systems engineering team through design, integration, and verification of satellite programs. The role emphasizes customer interfacing, problem solving, and autonomous execution across the full engineering lifecycle.

Qualifications

• BS in Systems Engineering or related technical field.
• 5-15 years of experience as a system engineer or similar broad technical role.
• Project leadership experience (e.g. chief systems engineer, product lead, or team lead).
• Understanding of the SE 'V', interdependencies, and applying it to program execution.
• Experience with external customer communication.
• Experience interpreting customer needs and expectations.
• Strong technical problem-solving skills.
• Engagement with multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in design and/or test of a space vehicle.
• Experience leading requirement derivation and verification activities.
• Experience in most phases of a program life cycle.
• Strong communication and coordination skills (verbal, written, presentation).
• Strong interpersonal skills and techniques for eliciting and motivating team performance.
• Planning and organizing skills including schedule definition, cost estimation, and personnel forecasting.
• Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
• Must be willing to work at least 4 days in office in our Greenwood Village, Colorado office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and execute a space systems design/integration program.
• Lead technical execution of a satellite program.
• Ensure mission requirements are met and appropriately verified.
• Interface with key mission partners.
• Lead meetings with customer and internal/external partners.
• Work with interdisciplinary teams to ensure program success.
• Resolve program blockers and communicate needs to maintain mission execution.
