Job summary

Aalyria is seeking a Mission Engineer to bridge complex communications physics with Spacetime software orchestration. This hybrid role blends wireless systems engineering with software integration, ensuring system models are integrated, performant, and resilient in live customer environments.

You will work across product and engineering teams to turn custom integration patterns into reusable features, using Python or Go for adapter layers and data schemas with Protobuf/JSON/gRPC.

Qualifications

• Hybrid technical foundation combining software engineering with physical-layer communications.
• Hands-on software development experience and a willingness to complete an SWE coding assessment.
• Experience with wireless systems including RF path loss, propagation, and link budgets.
• Practical experience with system/network simulation and modeling tools.
• Typically 3+ years of engineering experience in relevant fields, with a degree in CS, EE, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain high-fidelity system models within Spacetime to orchestrate dynamic wireless networks.
• Design and write production-ready adapter layers (Python/Go) to connect Spacetime with customer hardware.
• Create and optimize data schemas (Protobuf, JSON, gRPC) for mapping external network topologies.
• Conduct link budget analyses, wave propagation modeling, and coverage simulations.
• Serve as tier-3 escalation lead for live networks and resolve complex integration issues.
• Collaborate with Product and Software Engineering to translate integrations into reusable features.
