Job summary

The American Red Cross in Farmington, CT is seeking a Transportation Logistics Coordinator to schedule and dispatch paid and volunteer drivers, manage routes, and support transport programs for hospitals and facilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years’ experience required.
• A valid driver's license and clean DMV record is required.
• Must have basic computer, reading, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule deliveries and shuttles including empty box pickups utilizing vendors/volunteers and ARC paid couriers based on the most economical and cost-effective means.
• Coordinate pickups of collected products from mobiles, fixed sites and staging sites utilizing the most economical and cost-effective means; adjust routes as needed for weather, traffic or events.
• Schedule and supervise volunteers and work with Volunteer Manager to increase the volunteer base and plan recognition events.
• Engage volunteers as equal team members with defined responsibilities; support the workforce engagement team; assist with training and skill development of volunteers.
• Interact with internal and external customers to provide updates and monitor courier deliveries; track shipments and provide real-time service improvements.
• Work with supply management and contracting; evaluate vehicle needs and coordinate with Fleet Coordinator.
• Perform duties in compliance with standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements.
