Job summary

The American Red Cross in Farmington, CT is seeking a Transportation Coordinator to dispatch drivers for blood pick-up and delivery, coordinate scheduling, routing, and ensure safe vehicle operation. You will perform complex administrative duties to support integrated logistics within the division.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree, at least two years' experience, a valid driver's license with clean DMV, and solid computer/communication skills. On-call duties may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Minimum of two years' experience required.
• A valid driver's license and clean DMV record is required.
• Must have basic computer, reading, and communication skills.
• Previous experience with messenger service or trucking company is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate deliveries and shuttles, using vendors and couriers for cost-effective results.
• Adjust routes due to weather, traffic, or events.
• Schedule and supervise volunteers; assist local recognition events.
• Update customers on deliveries and track couriers.
• Monitor invoices and ensure timely payments; communicate with vendors.
• Collaborate with supply management and contracting as needed.
• Ensure vehicle needs are met in coordination with Fleet.
• On-call duties may be required.
