Job summary

Volunteers of America is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to lead full cycle recruiting for program and administrative roles across California and Nevada. The role partners with HR and program leadership to forecast needs and ensure a mission-aligned candidate experience.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field and 1–3 years in talent acquisition, preferably in nonprofit or mission-driven environments.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to engage effectively with candidates, staff, community partners, and leadership.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
• Computer and technology skills; Outlook, Word, Excel, applicant tracking system, PowerPoint, etc.

Responsibilities

• Forecast staffing needs with HR and program leaders across CA and NV.
• Manage full cycle recruiting: post announcements, screen, interview, and coordinate offers.
• Source candidates via job boards, social media, colleges, workforce partners, and community organizations.
• Maintain ATS data and recruitment metrics; optimize templates and documents.
• Coordinate and participate in job fairs, events, and outreach to promote the organization.
• Standardize job descriptions, interview guides, and selection tools; support equitable hiring.
