Job summary

Goodwill Southwest Florida is seeking a Retail Sales Associate to provide friendly, fast, accurate, and safe customer service while supporting daily store operations. This role includes assisting customers, operating cash registers, accepting donations, processing merchandise, and supporting production and merchandising activities.

The position is cross-trained across store areas to maintain a clean, safe, and organized shopping environment and contribute to achieving production goals and

Qualifications

• Retail experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cash registers, adding machines, credit card machines, telephones, and merchandise pricing.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Knowledge of basic math skills and cash handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by greeting donors and customers, monitoring entrances and exits, assisting customers on the sales floor, and maintaining efficient checkout operations.
• Operate the cash register, process sales transactions, accept payments, bag merchandise, ask customers to Round Up their purchases, and complete opening and closing register procedures.
• Accept donations, provide donation receipts, and assist donors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Merchandise counters, tables, racks, and other sales floor displays while maintaining safe aisles and walking surfaces throughout the store.
• Meet or exceed production goals by processing soft-line and hard-line merchandise, accurately recording production, and supporting continuous process improvement.
• Follow all processing procedures, including rubber banding shoes and other designated requirements.
• Move rolling racks and hoppers to the sales floor and merchandise products according to color, category, pricing, and rotation guidelines.
