Job summary

The Hana Group is seeking a seasoned Program Manager to lead human-centered design, research, communications, and implementation for the Hana Defense Solutions team in the Washington, DC area. You will guide cross-functional workstreams, manage risks, and maintain client relationships to ensure contract continuity and expansion.

Responsibilities cover full project lifecycle from vision to adoption, with regular client interaction, strategic planning, and mentorship of team members to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Human-Centered Design, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience with DoW, federal or mission-critical organizations.
• 2+ years of experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.
• Proven ability to develop and execute program strategy in complex environments.
• Experience delivering human-centered design solutions with user research knowledge.
• Background in business development and contract expansion.
• Experience with task management platforms like Jira.
• Experience managing backlogs, risks, dependencies, and mitigation.
• Strong client engagement, communication, and organizational leadership skills.
• Knowledge of DoW contracting, performance management, and budget execution.
• Willingness to travel for in-person sessions with clients.
• U.S. citizenship and DoD Secret or higher clearance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the customer point of contact for leadership and partner organizations.
• Develop and execute strategic plans, frameworks, and recommendations aligned to DoW objectives.
• Lead full project lifecycle: define vision, gather requirements, oversee execution, drive adoption.
• Maintain relationships between customer, leadership, partners, and internal teams.
• Facilitate communication across programs to keep objectives clearly defined.
• Manage project scope, performance, and risk.
• Attend weekly syncs to discuss cross-program risks and resource conflicts.
• Attend in-person customer meetings weekly or bi-weekly as required.
• Maintain documentation, schedules, and trackers; escalate issues as needed.
• Prepare client briefs, progress reports, and leadership summaries.
• Document lessons learned for reuse and knowledge sharing.
• Coordinate meetings, workshops, and collaborative sessions.
• Supervise and mentor team members focused on delivery quality.
• Oversee onboarding of new team members.
• Identify opportunities to extend contracts and develop new business with related clients.
