Job summary

The Indian Health Service (IHS) is seeking a physician to provide high-quality medical care and leadership within a dedicated team serving American Indian and Alaska Native people.

You will diagnose, treat, and manage a broad range of health needs, collaborate with professionals, and contribute to teaching and clinical innovation while upholding public health goals and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from US/Canada accredited program.
• Current, active, unrestricted medical license in the United States or territory.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert patient-centered medical care across acute, chronic, and preventive needs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective, coordinated care.
• Perform specialty-specific diagnostic/therapeutic procedures as trained and credentialed.
• Contribute to teaching, mentorship, and professional development of staff and trainees.
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
