Job summary

Indian Health Service is seeking physicians to provide comprehensive medical care and lead clinical teams in a mission-driven setting. You will deliver patient-centered care across acute, chronic, and preventive health needs with a focus on American Indian and Alaska Native communities.

The role emphasizes collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, ongoing professional development, and participation in initiatives to improve healthcare delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree from US/Canada medical school (MD or DO) accredited by AMA/AAMC/LCME/AOA or equivalent.
• Current, active, full, unrestricted physician license in US/territory.
• Minimum 1 year of supervised graduate training after medical school (internship/residency).

Responsibilities

• Provide expert patient-centered care across acute, chronic, and preventive needs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective care.
• Perform specialty-specific diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical procedures as trained.
• Contribute to teaching, mentorship, and professional development of staff and learners.
• Participate in quality improvement and clinical innovation initiatives.
