Job summary

The Indian Health Service (IHS) is seeking physicians to deliver comprehensive medical care, contribute to patient-centered outcomes, and engage in teaching and professional development. You will join a mission-driven team improving health for American Indian and Alaska Native people.

Expect to participate in multidisciplinary care, maintain clinical privileges, and adapt to rotating shifts as required. A recruitment/relocation sign-on bonus is available to new hires as part of the total

Qualifications

• Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or equivalent from a US/Canada-accredited school.
• Foreign Medical School: equivalent education evidenced by ECFMG or other recognized pathways.
• Licensure: active, full, unrestricted medical license/registration in the US or a territory.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert patient-centered medical care including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute, chronic, and preventive health needs within specialty.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe, effective, and coordinated care; review evidence to reach final conclusions.
• Perform specialty-specific diagnostic, therapeutic, and/or surgical procedures consistent with training and credentialing, including complex disability claims adjudication.
• Contribute to teaching, mentorship, and professional development of medical staff, students, and trainees.
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical innovation initiatives.
