The Indian Health Service (IHS) seeks physicians to join a mission-driven team delivering high-quality care to American Indian and Alaska Native people. You will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with compassion and commitment to health equity.

You will contribute to teaching, mentorship, and professional development while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective care across generations.

Qualifications

• Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or equivalent from a US/Canada-school; must be accredited by AMA/AAMC/LCME or osteopathic accrediting body.
• Foreign medical school degree must be equivalent to US standards; evidence via ECFMG or alternate pathways.
• Current, active, full, and unrestricted medical license/registration in a US state, DC, PR, or territory.

Responsabilités

• Provide expert patient-centered medical care including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute, chronic, and preventive health needs within specialty.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe, effective, and coordinated care; review conflicting medical evidence to reach final conclusions.
• Perform specialty-specific diagnostic, therapeutic, and/or surgical procedures consistent with training and credentialing including adjudicating complex disability claims.
• Contribute to teaching, mentorship, and professional development of medical staff, students, and trainees.
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical innovation initiatives to advance healthcare delivery.
