Job summary

The Visiting Nurse Association of Texas is seeking an experienced Biller/Collector to own the revenue cycle from initial billing to reimbursement. You will verify eligibility, submit clean claims, and pursue timely payments while coordinating with Medicaid and third-party payers.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of healthcare billing and collections experience.
• Strong accounts receivable background with Medicaid and third-party payers.
• Knowledge of HCPCS codes, modifiers, and electronic claim submission.
• Hospice billing and collection experience preferred.
• Background check ability required.

Responsibilities

• Accurate Billing & Submissions: Verify eligibility, authorizations, units, and HCPCS codes to submit clean claims and invoices.
• Active Collections & Follow-Up: Work aged accounts receivable monthly with Medicaid and other payers.
• Denials & Discrepancy Resolution: Research and resolve claim rejections and underpayments.
• Reconciliation & Documentation: Reconcile services, payments, and adjustments; document collection activity.
• Cross-Department Support: Collaborate with Intake, Operations, and Accounting to resolve billing barriers.
