Job summary

Jubilee Housing in Washington, DC seeks a seasoned Chief Operating Officer to lead mission-driven programs, resident-centered services, and organizational infrastructure. The COO will guide growth, sustain resident support, and translate Jubilee's strategic plan into actionable results.

The role partners with the CEO and Board, overseeing risk, finance, HR, and program quality, while directing a 50+ person team across research, evaluation, and operations to advance Jubilee's justice housing

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit or for-profit organizations, preferably in housing, community development, or human services.
• Strong financial acumen with budget management experience.
• Excellent communication skills—comfortable engaging at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Advise the CEO, senior leadership, and board on strategy, performance, and innovation.
• Steward Jubilee’s mission, values, and culture as a key executive team member.
• Lead implementation of the strategic plan with dashboards, milestones, and accountability.
• Oversee resident services, programs, and outcomes with a resident-centered approach.
• Direct HR workforce planning and talent development initiatives.
• Lead risk management across operations, compliance, and safety.
• Represent Jubilee to funders, government agencies, and community partners.
