Job summary

Youth Services System, Inc. seeks a strategic CFO to guide the nonprofit's financial health, compliance, and growth. You will lead budgeting, grants, audits, and financial reporting while partnering with the CEO and board.

Based in Wheeling, WV, this full-time role oversees IT operations, healthcare billing, and internal controls, ensuring sustainable operations to support children and families served by the organization. Salary $120,000–$140,000; exempt with full benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of financial management experience, preferably nonprofit.
• Fund accounting experience is required.
• Previous supervisory and leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit financial management.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, audits, grants management, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and accounting software systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting and finance functions, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and grant accounting.
• Develop and manage the agency's annual operating budget and program budgets.
• Monitor cash flow, financial performance, and budget-to-actual results.
• Prepare financial reports, analyses, forecasts, and recommendations for executive leadership and the Board.
• Oversee annual audits, tax filings, cost reports, W-2s, and 1099 preparation.
• Analyze financial trends and organizational performance to support strategic decision-making.
