Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store is seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to handle full charge bookkeeping, AP/AR, payroll, and general ledger maintenance. You will ensure GAAP compliance, assist with budget preparations, and prepare monthly financial reports to support community programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum: 2-year (A.S.) accounting degree plus accounting work experience
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in accounting plus work experience
• Proficient computer skills including accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

• Perform full charge bookkeeping and maintain compliance with GAAP
• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
• Review and post bi-weekly payroll journals
• Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns
• Maintain control procedures for Food Stamps and Petty Cash
• Process billing and reconciliation for internal and external vouchers
• Prepare monthly financial reports and audit schedules
• Reconcile payroll deductions and exchange accounts
• Work with HR staff on pension contribution reports
• Generate and submit Rags Sales & Vehicle Sales Reports
• Assist with budget preparations and data entry
• Collaborate with ARC Command Center for month/year-end closing
• Review and approve vendor checks before release
• Maintain oversight of accounts and financial procedures
