The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Davenport, IA seeks an experienced accounting professional to manage financial operations including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.

This full-time role emphasizes accurate financial reporting, budget management, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards; you will collaborate with HR and oversee staff, with pay of $20-22 per hour.

Mansioni

• Perform full charge bookkeeping and maintain compliance with GAAP
• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
• Review and post bi-weekly payroll journals
• Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns
• Maintain control procedures for Food Stamps and Petty Cash
• Process billing and reconciliation for internal and external vouchers
• Prepare monthly financial reports and audit schedules
• Reconcile payroll deductions and exchange accounts
• Work with HR staff on pension contribution reports
• Generate and submit Rags Sales & Vehicle Sales Reports
• Assist with budget preparations and data entry
• Collaborate with ARC Command Center for month/year-end closing
• Supervise accounting department staff
• Review and approve vendor checks before release
• Maintain oversight of accounts and financial procedures

This role is crucial in supporting our mission through accurate financial reporting, budget management, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards.

Location: Davenport, Iowa

Pay: $20-22/hr

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: 40 hours per week

What You’ll Do

Financial Management

• Perform full charge bookkeeping and maintain compliance with GAAP
• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
• Review and post bi-weekly payroll journals
• Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns
• Maintain control procedures for Food Stamps and Petty Cash
• Process billing and reconciliation for internal and external vouchers

Reporting & Compliance

• Prepare monthly financial reports and audit schedules
• Reconcile payroll deductions and exchange accounts
