Job summary

The Family Place seeks a Director of Accounting to partner with the Chief Financial Officer in leading financial operations and ensuring fiscal integrity for a nonprofit focused on survivors of family violence. You will oversee general ledger, month-end/year-end closes, balance sheet reconciliations, and GAAP compliance while maintaining strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• Requires a four-year degree in accounting.
• Minimum five years of accounting experience.
• Minimum three years in supervising accounting staff.
• CPA preferred but not required.
• Ability to travel when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial reporting and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Supervise staff of four in accounting functions.
• Collaborate with CFO on budgets, audits, and Form 990 filings.
• Provide strategic financial analyses and presentations for leadership.
• Support process improvements and internal controls.
