Job summary

Puyallup Tribal Health Authority is seeking an experienced Accountant to support financial operations for a mission-driven healthcare organization serving Indigenous communities. This on-site role handles payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger activities, contributing to accurate reporting and compliance.

You will process bi-weekly payroll, monitor ACA compliance, prepare monthly and annual reports, and collaborate with staff and vendors to resolve accounting inquiries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with accounting emphasis (24 credit hours accounting)
• One year of direct accounting related experience
• Full-cycle payroll experience for 50+ employees
• GAAP and ACA knowledge
• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office
• Experience using automated accounting and payroll systems
• Valid driver's license and liability insurance

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll, including timesheet review and retirement reporting
• Monitor ACA compliance by uploading payroll data and tracking hours
• Process accounts payable transactions using automated systems
• Manage accounts receivable activities including payment processing
• Perform daily cash monitoring and monthly reconciliations
• Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and monthly/quarterly/annual reports
• Review purchase requisitions for budget and grant compliance
• Provide customer service and admin support regarding payroll and invoices
