Job summary

Pittsburgh Community Broadcasting Corporation (PCBC), home of WESA and WYEP, is seeking an Accountant to strengthen our financial accuracy and efficiency. This role involves hands-on daily accounting, month-end close, audits support, and cross‑department collaboration in a mission-driven org.

The Accountant will handle payable/receivable, GL entries, cash deposits, and grant reporting while supporting the Executive Management Team with administrative tasks and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in accounting, business or related field.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage priorities.
• Excellent data entry and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Record and maintain accurate day-to-day financial transactions.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including weekly processing.
• Record cash receipts and make bank deposits.
• Process general ledger transactions and post journal entries.
• Reconcile credit card purchases to monthly statements.
• Maintain the petty cash fund.
• Assist with timely and accurate month-end close.
• Prepare financial and departmental reports as needed.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and internal policies.
