Job summary

Pittsburgh Symphony, Inc. is seeking an Accounting Manager to partner with the Controller and CFO to enhance systems and controls for efficient financial reporting and compliance. You will oversee payroll, accounts payable, and cash functions while coordinating with other finance staff and departments.

The role emphasizes tax compliance, annual audits, and budgeting/forecast activities within a flexible, hybrid Pittsburgh office environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required. CPA or CPA-eligible preferred.
• At least 5 years related accounting experience with increasing responsibility.
• Experience with tax reporting and regulatory filings in a nonprofit context.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel; experience with Blackbaud FENxt preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with budget process and financial planning and analysis.
• Prepare federal/state tax returns and government reports.
• Maintain internal controls and accounting policies and procedures.
• Oversee payroll, accounts payable, and cash management activities.
• Support year-end audits and GAAP financial statements.
• Train staff on finance policies and procedures.
