Groundswell is a premier technology integrator seeking an experienced Data Engineer to build secure data capabilities for a mission-focused platform. You will design repeatable workflows, preserve provenance, and enable AI-enabled capabilities in controlled environments.

Responsibilities include designing ETL/ELT pipelines, onboarding sources, ensuring data quality, and implementing secure data practices across cloud platforms (AWS). Must be a U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (CS, CE, Math, Stats).
• 5+ years of professional data engineering experience with production pipelines.
• Strong SQL expertise and data modeling skills.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or similar languages for data engineering.
• Experience with Airflow, AWS Glue, Spark, or comparable tools.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS strongly preferred) and data security.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate batch and streaming ETL/ELT pipelines ingesting data from multiple sources.
• Onboard new data sources with schemas, mappings, validation rules, and ownership.
• Build automated data-quality checks with monitoring and alerting.
• Create transformations and workflows for operational apps, analytics, ML, and retrieval.
• Preserve lineage, provenance, audit trails, and metadata.
• Implement secure data practices including least-privilege access and encryption.
• Develop data models and curated datasets with documented access.
• Automate deployments with IaC, CI/CD, and orchestration.
• Optimize pipelines for scalability, resiliency, cost across clouds.
• Troubleshoot distributed data systems and communicate root causes.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, security, and stakeholders.
• Produce runbooks, documentation, and data contracts.
• Contribute to solution planning for secure data platforms and AI capabilities.
