Job summary

The Beaver Excavating Co. is seeking a Traveling Project Engineer to assist the project team in planning and executing successful construction projects. The position is based on a mission-critical site in southern Ohio with housing provided for non-local candidates.

Responsibilities include assisting with work orders, schedules, drawings, field measurements, subcontracts, and supplier agreements, and supporting the Project Manager, Superintendent, and Contract Administrator with job documents.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend contract documents and construction plans.
• Solid general math skills for field calculations.
• Proficient in MS Office and construction software.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Accurate and detail-oriented.
• Able to work with customers and employees at all levels.
• Commitment to safety at all times.

Responsibilities

• Develops solid working relationships with all project personnel.
• Assists in preparing work orders, schedules, drawings, field measurements, subcontracts, and supplier agreements.
• Attends pre-construction meetings and helps prepare action items and solutions.
• Supports Project Manager, Superintendent, and Contract Administrator with job documents.
• Analyzes project layout, sequencing, cost analysis, quantities, and specifications.
• Ensures proper document control and QA records.
• Monitors site to ensure progress on schedule.
• Provides support to field personnel.
