Job summary

Space Mission Systems, Camden, NJ, seeks a Manager Software Engineer to lead a team delivering mission‑critical software across the full lifecycle, including requirements, architecture, design, implementation, integration and test.

You will mentor engineers, support recruiting and performance management, and contribute to proposals and engineering planning in a dynamic, defense‑oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum 9 years of relevant experience; or 13 years if no degree.
• Senior engineering or technical lead experience.
• DoD Secret security clearance.
• RESTful services designed or developed in production.
• Strong cross‑disciplinary communication; proposal and EVMS exposure.
• Experience in Agile or hybrid Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical and task leadership for a software engineering team.
• Lead development of RESTful APIs and service‑based architectures for Java apps.
• Guide deployment on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and RPM packaging.
• Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and architecture discussions.
