Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Software Engineering Supervisor Lead to oversee and mentor a team of software engineers supporting NASA’s White Sands Complex. The role provides technical leadership, coordination, and lifecycle oversight for mission-critical communication systems, ensuring integration, testing, and delivery of applications and systems for TDRSS data distribution.

Qualifications

6+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
Experience applying Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) to engineering teams.
Hands-on modernization, refactoring, or redesign of legacy systems with stability.
US Citizenship and ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and align work with the Software Engineering Manager.
Serve as acting Software Engineering Manager when required.
Collaborate with Project Managers and Systems Engineers to plan, design, and develop electronic data processing systems.
Identify and resolve technical and operational challenges with broad departmental impact.
Drive modernization of legacy software and refactor to modern architectures.
Provide first-level customer support and weekly status updates.
Mentor engineers in Agile thinking and clean‑code practices.
Lead and evaluate personnel performance and day‑to‑day leadership.
