Job summary

Ryan Companies Inc. in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a Mission Critical Quality Manager to plan, develop, implement, and execute project-specific QA/QC plans for complex civil, structural, architectural, and MEP installations in preparation for equipment commissioning.

The role leads QA/QC strategy across Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-up phases, reviews ITPs, and coordinates with trade partners and client teams to ensure conformance to contract documents and seamless turnover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architectural, civil, structural engineering or construction management.
• 5+ Years of construction quality control experience.
• Familiarity with safety certifications such as OSHA 30, NFPA 70E or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project-specific quality management strategy by implementing the three phases of control (Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-up).
• Oversee the Project Inspection Test Plan for CSA and MEP installations, prior to commissioning.
• Coordinate and monitor daily QA/QC activities for the Ryan and Trade Partner Quality Teams.
• Communicate quality management status and risks to the project team, project leadership, and client teams.
• Assist with training project team members on the QA/QC Program, including Procore or other required software.
• Coordinate with the Project team to ensure timely completion of preparatory meetings.
• Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications.
• Set quality management expectations with trade partners, including inspections, testing, and documentation requirements.
• Assist the Project Team by preparing quality management content for meetings.
• Manage the Inspection Test Plan (ITP) to develop a complete log of all field inspections and ensure timely receipt of test reports and photos.
• Coordinate and lead all first work inspections to ensure workmanship meets quality standards.
• Conduct daily walkthroughs to monitor progress and ensure continued compliance.
• Conduct and document weekly QC meetings with trade partners, project team members, and client representatives.
• Conduct periodic quality walkthroughs with the client, design team, and client reps.
• Identify, document, monitor, and track all deficiencies and corrective actions.
• Stop work if necessary to resolve safety or quality issues.
• Review Architect/Engineer field reports to ensure quality issues are communicated.
• Monitor deficiencies and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
• Support completion list, punch list, and phase turnover activities.
• Monitor Quality Management Dashboards to direct focus where needed.
• Provide quality management communication to the Client via site walkthroughs and meetings.
• Capture and share lessons learned with project teams, trade partners, and other Ryan Mission Critical project teams.
