Job summary

Endepth Solutions is seeking a Systems Engineer – Level 2 to support U.S. Government programs. You will administer, secure, and sustain Linux-based enterprise systems, focusing on automation, virtualization, and operational readiness across multiple environments.

The role requires expertise with Rocky Linux/RHEL, Ansible/Puppet, VMware, and bash scripting, plus experience with Jira/GitLab and root-cause analysis. On-site work in Laurel, MD with program impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 5 additional years may substitute.
• 14 years of Systems Engineer experience.
• Strong experience with Rocky Linux and/or RHEL.
• Experience with Linux storage, interface management, patching.
• Experience with Ansible and/or Puppet for deployment/automation.
• Experience with VMware virtualization.
• Proficient in Bash scripting.
• Familiarity with GitLab and Jira.
• Experience troubleshooting enterprise Linux systems.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and support Linux-based systems (Rocky Linux/RHEL) in enterprise environments.
• Perform Linux system administration including storage, interface configuration, hardening, patching.
• Conduct vulnerability scanning and patching, ensure compliance in IC reporting tools.
• Automate configuration management with Ansible and/or Puppet.
• Support VMware environments and VM lifecycle management.
• Develop and troubleshoot Bash scripts for automation.
• Perform root-cause analysis for complex Linux issues.
• Manage hardware deployments and sustainment for field sites.
• Coordinate software deployments and upgrades across environments.
• Monitor system health and performance with enterprise tools.
• Plan maintenance windows and outages with teams and customers.
• Maintain monitoring dashboards and health checks.
