Job summary

Base-2 Solutions, LLC is seeking a Linux Server Systems Engineer to support mission-critical capabilities at the Intelligence Community Campus in Bethesda, Maryland. This on-site role focuses on design, deployment, security, and lifecycle support of Linux-based server infrastructure across physical and virtual environments.

Responsibilities include configuring, integrating, and optimizing Linux systems, implementing automation using Ansible, Salt, Puppet, Chef, and scripting languages, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience engineering, deploying, and maintaining Linux/UNIX server environments.
• Experience with RHEL/ Rocky Linux/ Oracle Linux/ Ubuntu.
• Experience with configuration management and IaC tools (Ansible, Salt, Puppet, Chef).
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Shell) and automation mindset.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and optimize Linux server solutions across physical and virtual environments.
• Perform systems engineering activities including requirements analysis and system testing.
• Develop automation for provisioning, patching, compliance, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Design hardened Linux configurations aligned with cybersecurity requirements.
• Coordinate with customers and teams to implement solutions and track progress.
• Provide after-hours support for mission-critical infrastructure issues.
