Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Information and Communications Technology Designer to perform basic technical duties under supervision and coordinate production within one’s discipline. You will develop system designs, conduct site visits, and prepare deliverables in line with client goals and project scope.

You will follow QA/QC processes, contribute to professional growth, and help manage project budgets and timelines. Prior ICT and data center experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience with ICT design in Mission Critical Facilities is preferred.
• Accredited engineering degree or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years related industry experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ICT design principles, TIA standards and BICSI best practices.

Responsibilities

• Develops systems designs within own discipline with minimal supervision.
• Performs site visits for surveys, progress inspections, and final punch lists as required by project timelines.
• Prepares project deliverables per the client’s intent and scope of work in Stantec's proposal.
• Follows Stantec’s quality management process; reviews project deliverables before submitting to QA/QC reviewer.
• Actively participates in the engineering/professional community to build personal knowledge and professional growth.
• Meets or exceeds utilization goals and adheres to project budget.
• Performs duties to assist or act as the project manager as follows: - Gives input or creates plans to complete tasks within the project timeline and budget.
• Creates detailed instructions, delegates tasks, and reviews returned work as necessary to ensure timely execution of project within budget.
• Identifies and reports potential roadblocks and competing client and co-worker priorities that may inhibit the ability to maintain the project scope, schedule, and budget.
• Develops understanding of Stantec’s accounting and project management systems.
