Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team seeks an Information and Communications Technology Designer to perform basic technical duties under supervision, coordinating production within the group and guiding project progress.

Responsibilities include developing systems designs, site surveys, client deliverables, QA/QC reviews, and contributing to the project’s budget and timeline while expanding professional knowledge.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of ICT design principles for backbone and horizontal cabling.
• Understanding of customer owned outside plant pathway design.
• Familiarity with TIA standards and BICSI best practices.
• Experience with Data Center Facilities.
• Knowledge of Structured Cabling Systems and building codes.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents and regulations.
• Proficiency in CAD, Bluebeam, and Revit.

Responsibilities

• Develops systems designs within own discipline with minimal supervision.
• Performs site visits for surveys, progress inspections, and final punch lists as required by project timelines.
• Prepares project deliverables per the client’s intent and scope of work in Stantec's proposal.
• Follows Stantec’s quality management process; reviews project deliverables before submitting to QA/QC reviewer.
• Engages with the engineering/professional community for knowledge and growth.
• Meets or exceeds utilization goals and adheres to project budget.
• Assists or acts as project manager: creates plans, timelines, and budgets, coordinating with other disciplines.
• Creates detailed instructions, delegates tasks, and reviews returned work for timely execution.
• Identifies and reports roadblocks and competing priorities to maintain scope, schedule, and budget.
• Develops understanding of Stantec’s accounting and project management systems.
