Job summary

Stantec’s Information and Communications Technology Designer role supports basic technical duties under supervision within one’s discipline. You will perform independent tasks, coordinate with the team, and guide the project manager on completion of duties.

Responsibilities include designing systems within your discipline, conducting site surveys, delivering client-aligned deliverables, and adhering to QA/QC processes while managing schedule and budget.

Qualifications

• Accredited engineering degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum 5 years related industry experience preferred.
• Experience with ICT design within Mission Critical Facilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops systems designs within own discipline with minimal supervision.
• Performs site visits for surveys, progress inspections, and final punch lists as required by project timelines.
• Prepares project deliverables per the client’s intent and scope of work in Stantec's proposal.
• Follows Stantec’s quality management process; reviews project deliverables before submitting to QA/QC reviewer.
• Actively participates in the engineering/professional community to build personal knowledge and professional growth.
• Meets or exceeds utilization goals and adheres to project budget.
• Performs duties to assist or act as the project manager as follows: input plans to complete tasks within timeline and budget.
• Creates detailed instructions, delegates tasks, and reviews returned work as necessary to ensure timely execution of project within budget.
• Identifies and reports potential roadblocks and competing client and co-worker priorities that may inhibit scope.
• Develops understanding of Stantec’s accounting and project management systems.
