Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Project Controls professional to lead budget development, forecasting and schedule management for multiple design-engineering projects. You will monitor performance using EV metrics, coordinate with finance on revenue recognition, and ensure adherence to controls standards.

The role supports hybrid/work arrangements, requires strong analytical and collaborative skills, and offers compensation aligned with a large professional services firm in the United States.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of progressive project controls experience in design‑engineering or professional services.
• Strong knowledge of cost control, forecasting and earned value management in a labor-based environment.
• Proficiency with project controls tools and systems (Excel, scheduling software, Power BI).
• Collaborative with project managers, technical teams and finance stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project budgets, forecasts (EAC/ETC) and cash flow projections.
• Establish and manage cost and schedule control structures (WBS) aligned with scope.
• Monitor performance using earned value and other KPIs; identify trends and risks.
• Support baseline development, change management and reforecasting.
• Track costs, labor utilization and profitability across teams and subconsultants.
• Prepare and deliver project controls reports with variance analysis and actions.
• Coordinate with Finance on revenue recognition, invoicing and close activities.
• Ensure compliance with internal project controls standards and external requirements.
• Support schedule development and maintenance; analyze critical path and resource loading.
• Mentor junior project controls staff and share best practices.
