Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer for Mission Critical (Federal) projects in the United States. The role supports electrical design for power, lighting, and standby systems in mission-critical facilities under supervision, with opportunities to learn DoD standards and federal workflows.

You will contribute to electrical engineering design, calculations, drawings, and studies while collaborating with teams serving DoD agencies and federal clients.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering assignments of low to medium complexity using standard principles and company design standards.
• Support design and documentation of mission critical electrical systems including low voltage distribution and lighting systems.
• Prepare drawings, reports, calculations, specifications, and studies of limited to moderate scope.
• Develop and check basic to intermediate engineering calculations.
• Apply knowledge of Federal design standards and workflows (DoD requirements).
• Assist with RFIs, submittals, and coordination during design and construction phases.
• Adhere to project budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
