Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team is seeking a Commissioning Consultant to perform basic technical and project management duties under supervision. The role supports commissioning across planning, testing, and documentation for building systems, with travel to various Stantec offices.

Ideal candidates hold an Electrical Engineering degree and have experience with data centers or mission-critical facilities, including design reviews, SOP/MOP development, and client communication.

Qualifications

• Technical/Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
• Experience in consulting engineering preferred (1+ year)
• Data Center/mission-critical project experience is valued

Responsibilities

• Participate in commissioning projects across planning, scheduling, and coordination
• Prepare commissioning scripts, tests, and reports; supervise on-site staff training
• Develop SOPs, MOPs, and comprehensive commissioning documentation
• Prepare test procedures and compile results
• Create logging tools, checklists, and deficiency lists
• Provide recommendations to optimize building operations and equipment manuals
• Review design criteria, specs, drawings and submittals for commissioning
• Engage with contractors, vendors and testing technicians
• Conduct testing and compile all results including load bank testing
• Develop tests for electrical systems (UPS, Generator, Switchgear, PDU)
