Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to maintain and troubleshoot mission-critical facilities, including standby generators and power/cooling systems. You will monitor, operate, and repair complex electrical and mechanical equipment across AWS data centers.

The role requires travel between sites, willingness to work long shifts, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to uphold high uptime and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to travel between data center locations
• Willingness to work up to 12-hour shifts
• Experience with critical facility equipment is a plus

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLA.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within internal SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management program.
• Monitor daily work requests and drive projects to completion.
• On-site support of contractors and vendors per established practices and local legislation.
• Work schedule may include shifts up to 12 hours and on-call rotations.
• Role may support more than one location/site.
